A chair is a place,
not a reward.
Table seven is kept for visitors who would like to remain after their coffee. It is shared when someone asks politely. You may read, talk, write, sit in silence or leave.
The regular table is never sold as an exclusive reservation. Groups of four or more should ask the counter about space. A companion may bring the newspaper without subscribing.
Step-free entrance. A quieter seat is available at the back when it is free. Ask for help moving a chair; nobody has to explain why.
Mutual sometimes suggests this café as a public meeting place. An introduction buys no priority here. Supper starts its shared evening elsewhere.
The rest of the afternoon is still available.
